Mszana village , 60 kilometers south east from Krakow, shows a good glimpse of Polish low mountain landscapes. (700 m).

Houses , with their colorful roofs, often very large (2 or 3 floors) are not grouped around churches, but scattered far from the road, over kilometers.

Very small farms cultivate fields following the hillside and breed cows and sheeps. Agricultural methods are not modern and horses are still very often used. During summer, entire families harvest by hand before staying up around a fire on the hillside.
